That movie really got me thinking ! Thanks Michael Ruppert...

What matters most in life? Community...people... thats what I got from what he was saying...

Is our life style (oil, energy, money, population boom)  'infinitely sustainable' ? I'm going to have to side with this guy on that matter...he is seeking a shift from the current method of doing things...and not to the contemporary political philosophies either...more along the lines of balance with the world around him...

Did anyone see this...I want to hear other people's points of view for sure...(if you have the time)

Didn't agree with everything he was saying...but the core of his arguments really is going to make me think for a bit...

probably was the purpose of the movie in the first place

Chicken and Pagan Christianity...

I've been reading a book that has really been 'game changer' thus far....after I've re-read it...I will fully know what to think for sure..and as a result I'll let you know what I think.....But I am surprised how many pagan rituals were married with Christian tradition 200-300 years after Christ died....

on a Different note...I've cooked :)

Religion a determent?

Read this article...What do you think?

There was a ton of bashing religion in the comments and lumping all religions together that I had to respond so I said:

I love how quick people are to bash religion...is it really the reason for the lack of advancement? Keep in mind that not all religions are the same....for example the reason that you have all of these advancements is because of
not in spite of religion....many of the old universities started as religious institutions. In the US alone the great Universities Harvard, Yale etc...were religious institutions to begin with....Theology was not called "the queen of the sciences" for nothing..The logic and philosiphical matrix that was used in Theology was applied to many of the other sciences.Lets be serious here Religion can be quite debilitating
but lets not put them all under the same banner ok? Not the same... Sure Gunpowder was made in china but where was it perfected ? In "religiously held back medieval Europe" where it was harnessed for warfare...and not to mention the other advancements in Art, Science and Military Sciences. This was not in spite of but because of the system that was fostered through Christianity. History will present a more accurate picture of Christianity's affect on the world (and by extension religion's) --in short Religion was a determent but also a 'boon' --Sorry for the long explanation**

I'm not entirely sure when people became so ignorant of Christianity's contribution...(and of course I could be wrong...) but to the best of my knowledge I think this is a fact that shouldn't be overlooked...

This author does make some good points...though....

Early Sleep!

I'm ready for a change...there I said it...! ....like soon...

Hate that the travel 'sickness' is acting up again....and I have no means to do so right now...well I'll just settle for a list of places that I want to head to in the next couple of months/years (do I need to settle down?)

Belgium (again - had a great time there...) , Italy (first time for everything), China (so much to see so much history), Korea (miss the place already - probably wont miss it once I'm there), India (want to see what all the fuss is about), California (it's been years Drew), Missouri (that one is a no brain-er), and of course.... Antarctica...(nothing needs to be said about this its obvious)....

And I leave you with this wonderful piece of work....

Back

Dear Blog,

Sorry for not writing.

Sincerely,

Tim

ok now that thats out out of the way....

So these past weeks have been a bit of a blur...I thought I had the job locked up in Korea this month...then it was filled by someone else. They still want me (but they want me in September in Busan)...so I'm happy about that. I suppose, I can start thinking about how to get out to Arizona now.

Today I found Kimchi in the supermarket...going to attempt to make Kimchi jjigae ...I really liked that soup actually... The Kimchi that I'm trying is http://www.kingsasian.com/index.html King's Kimchi its ok...but some how I feel as if its lacking something.. I got the spicy but it doesn't seem that spicy at all... It was ok...

The most important resource...

What is the most important resource that a person can have? Land? ...that can be taken away anytime....Money? That can loose its value quickly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wall_Street_Crash_of_1929, Programs become outdated, and things like Oil are limited.

I believe that the most important resource that we have are people...Look at this....

I think its easy to forget (including myself ) the value...I was reading How to Make War...(good sleeping material...) and James F. Dunnigan affirms that the nations that fight a war most effectively
are the ones that invest in the training and indoctrination of their troops...not the nation that has the latest weapon systems and such...

...

The nations that rack up the most losses...many times due to the leaders loosing sight of that...

On another note...I colored the Sweetest! Picture...with my brother's gf's kids....look...

Good times

Well I was thumbing through Facebook and Amy Lim posted some pictures of myself and a few of my friends hanging out in Korea. I miss them....Probably won't see most of them for a long time....let this be a lesson...take things like grass, soap scum or arm pit hair for granted...not people...

thats all....

Sooo in honor of the weekend...

Easter or more specifically the act of resurrection is what legitimizes the beliefs associated with Christianity...its the breath to the lifeless body! If Jesus didn't come back from the grave then everything falls by the way side. True Story...The historical, personal and spiritual importance of this Holiday is more than important...its the reason why we are Christians in the first place. I hope to never loose sight of that.

on another note....I watched...Please Teach Me English (Korean: 영어완전정복, Yeongeo wanjeonjeongbok) Just got done watching this...it was ok...though I feel that they make foreigners look a bit crazy

Revelation!

I've been thinking again and it came out like this in a conversation with a friend:

its great coming to the realization that I'm not the center of the world...! and I'm elated with that...

....and you know what...this is a fact, especially in light of the Holiday...Its definitely not all about me...and I'm starting to come to that understanding! I need to put that new way of thinking into action...

Time and Options

Time goes by so fast and yet so slow! Why is it that when you want things to move along they move so slowly and when you want time to slow down. You want to savor every bit it goes so very fast? I guess I have to be patient in ALL things....Its the Pineapple :P

I came home after church and lounged...everyone was in New Jersey but me...strangely, I didn't mind that much...though I can also see myself getting tired of it too. Perhaps, not just yet.

“If you chase two rabbits, you will lose them both.”
- Native American saying

That is my problem...concerning many things...I tend to not narrow my options...or search down...this trickles down to everything (relationships, restaurants, items, books etc...) I think I might be afraid that I'll miss out on the best of things. I also think that having several options means that I can't be stereo-typed. Having Several options means that I might still yet be unique. I think I need a bit of a change. As I've told my brother I need to not spread myself too thin and be resolute in my commitment. (whatever it is) I just don't like being boxed in. (though I think this phase is ending)

Is it good for a person to be a jack of all trades or a master of one? I think that might be something that I need to answer. If I try to do everything I might end up doing nothing.

As a side note...I have a horrible craving for Fanta shaker and 자장면 (Jajangmyeon)

http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jajangmyeon
don't ask me why...never was a huge fan when I was over in Korea....
자장면                                                                                                            흔들 흔들 = Hundle Hundle

St. John's to interview Skinner

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Boston College coach Al Skinner will interview with St. John's, a source close to the situation said Friday.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because there was no official announcement. St. John's athletic director Chris Monasch was unavailable for comment.

Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt rejected an offer from St. John's on Thursday.

St. John's fired Norm Roberts last week after six seasons as basketball coach. The Red Storm have not been to the NCAA tournament since 2002.

Skinner has a 247-165 record in 13 seasons at Boston College, taking the Eagles to the NCAA tournament seven times. He coached Rhode Island to the NCAA tournament twice in nine seasons.

SO lately

...I've been thinking and wondering...can one man make a difference? What I mean to ask is...If that person wasn't there at that time in history...or rather that moment...what if anything would change? There has been a host of these personalities through out history... Napoleon, Hitler, Hannibal, even Stalin.....I suppose anyone can say that whatever happened...has happened for a reason right? I need to change my reading material ha ha

But I'm still left wondering who will be that difference maker?...from who will the next great change in history come from?...when will that next 'great' epoch happen? But I'm sure glad I don't know the future either...too much of a burden. I just like speculative history too much...

What am I going to do after church tomorrow? Any suggestions?

night thoughts...

SoOooo where did all the warm weather go? Its freezing! all well! right? nothing beats getting under the covers and letting it all go....are you like me? I mean, when you lay down for the night does your mind not 'go out' for some reason? Mine doesn't! it drifts and drifts on...Let me see...I think about the past a lot and how I could have reacted differently. I think about where I'm at right now...and the concerns of here and now (which sometimes stresses me out) and I think about the future. honestly, I would have to say that about 60% is the future 20:% the present and 20% the past...weird mix huh? I think its definitely a break in the routine...I'd have to say that about a few months ago...it was more like 90% my past, 10% the present and 10% the future...something changed...don't know what...but I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of it!

So my basic routine is definitely reading before I go to bed...I've been on a WWII kick for the past two months and I found a book while I had a layover in Ireland a few months back...its called The war of the world 'history's age of hatred'  By Mr. Niall Ferguson [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niall_Ferguson] Its pretty descriptive too...and I love how it's written...but I think he's a bit slanted....politically...(you didn't hear it from me) and obviously he us against war but his theme/message about 'man's inhumanity to man' is very provocative, profound and thought provoking...I might have to take a look at his other stuff when I have time and/or money....

My eyes burn...more to come

Up to this moment....

This is where I'm at right now...up till this moment....

a few months ago I returned from living in Korea for a year with plans to head back in the next couple of months. Right now, I have to do something about money...so I'm working at Monroe-Woodbury again as a sub-. Yesterday, I worked in the Middle School was pretty easy because I stood in for a department head a few classes sprinkled with the school play...Today, though, I have to fill out the application to get into EPIK (The job with the most vacation time :P) One of the prospective companies that I'm thinking of going through is trying to stick me near seoul (or at least in the adjacent province. Meh, I want to work in Busan....want to go back....there (but don't want to work in a Hagwon)...tall order huh? We'll see I suppose. Today, I really just lounged hung out with my brother...then I will have a meeting at 7pm....(this has got to be the most boring blog yet ha ha)

Regardless, I've been reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich again
(I've read it a few times now but I always seem to miss things) Did you realize that Hitler was profoundly affected by his teacher? History teacher? Crazy stuff....It just goes to show what can affect you for ill or the better . Makes you wonder what would have been different if he had a different teacher, or was accepted into the school of the arts that he wanted into or even if he was killed during World War II. Perhaps, teaching is what I should be doing right now? Perhaps not?

Well I need to jump in the shower get ready...ummm I'll talk later
